CLIENT: SELENE PAXTON-BROOKS, 2022-
In 2022, horror enthusiast
Selene Paxton-Brooks staged a one-day horror festival at St. George's
Theatre in Great Yarmouth. The programme consisted of the screening of
the feature films Asylum, Dracula AD 1972 and the BBC
ghost story A Warning to the Curious. Guests included horror
film historian Wayne Kinsey, Hammer Films runner Phil Campbell and
Sergei Subotsky (above middle), son of the Amicus horror film
producer Milton Subotsky.
The festival went so well
- a horror film festival in a converted church! - that a second event
was organised for 2023. This was even more successful, featuring on
stage interviews with actors Madeleine Smith (above left) and
Britt Ekland (above right) and sold out completely.
I designed the '50
Years...' logo and the poster, take photographs and liaise with the
local press, ensuring that the festival is given the widest possible
local coverage. In its third year in 2024, the event's guests included
actors Caroline Munro and Madeline Smith and Al Friswell, restorer of
Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion animation monster models.
