CLIENTS: SUPER SWAMP JELLYFISH, A.R.T., THE MOLOTOVS, LAURIE WRIGHT,
2024
Saturday 9 November 2024
will go down as a significant date in rock heritage: Mod singer
songwriter Laurie Wright sold out the 800-capacity Scala venue in
London’s King’s Cross. Not so long ago, he was homeless, a crack
addict and an alcoholic. By November 2024, he’d released two albums,
Get On the End of That! and We’re Only Warming Up.
Headlining the Scala concert was an astonishing achievement for him.
Laurie was supported by
three zeitgeist-defining bands – (above, left to right) Super
Swamp Jellyfish (lending his skills on bass), A.R.T. and The Molotovs.
Each act was introduced by a master of ceremonies who resembled a
late-1960s John Lennon (below, left), summing up the optimistic
vibe of the whole evening.
