CLIENT: SLOW DAZZLE WORLDWIDE, 2004
Slow Dazzle produce
collectible, officially licensed calendars for music, film and TV
brands. The design of David Bowie: The Official Calendar 2005
had a minimal look sympathetic to the photographs of Mick Rock, who
photographed Bowie throughout his career, but specifically in his
Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane and Diamond
Dogs phases.
The plan was to release it in a
limited edition, with a spot-varnished ‘Bowie’ logo on the cover
(above left). Early in development, it was decided instead to go for
a more affordable release and the design was amended accordingly
(left). David and Mick signed 100 of the printed calendars.
